Xiaomi’s standalone brand Redmi seems to have shifted its focus from the long list of Redmi 9-series phones to Redmi 10 as we’re starting to hear details about Redmi Note 10 Pro in the recent past. The handset is even expected to launch in India soon as it bagged BIS certification. Now, amidst, the certifications and leaks, a new alleged Redmi 10 series device — Redmi 10T with 5G connectivity has been listed on the Amazon India website. The Amazon listing shows Redmi 10T 5G price in India, entire specifications, design, and colour options. However, before you get all excited, let us tell you this is a fake listing.
Sneha Tainwala, Lead – Redmi Business, India tweeted about the same, saying there is no such Redmi 10T phone in the works and urged buyers to check the official products that are listed on Mi.com before making any purchases. ‘Genuine Original’ and ‘Amazcart’ are listed as sellers on the e-commerce website; both the listings show the orders are fulfilled by Amazon, which is surprising. The Redmi 10T 5G (6GB + 128GB) price is listed at Rs 34,999 for the Lunar Silver colour and Rs 33,999 for the Cosmic Black option and same RAM/storage configuration.
Interestingly, the Redmi 10T design and specs actually belong to the Mi 10T flagship that was launched in India back in October and is currently selling via Flipkart for a slightly higher price tag of Rs 35,999 (6GB + 128GB). This means that both the sellers could possibly have listed the phone’s name wrong, much like how few offline stores in the country are often confused with ‘Mi’ and ‘Redmi’ branding for phones (example: Mi Note 9 instead of Redmi Note 9).
Either way, considering that Xiaomi hasn’t officially launched any such Redmi 10T phone, we suggest you be aware of this fake Amazon listing. If you wish to purchase Mi 10T, we advise you do so through official channels and verified sellers.
