Highlights
  • The Redmi K50 series will come with MIUI 13, right out of the box.
  • Two smartphones from the series are expected to come with the latest MediaTek chipsets.
  • The two Snapdragon-powered models are said to be faster than the other two MediaTek-powered devices.

The Redmi K50 series is said to be in development for the past few weeks. Previously, we told you that the Redmi K50 series will consist of four different models, wherein two will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 and 9000 chipsets and two by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and recently launched Snapdragon 8 Gen1. We can also expect that all four models of the Redmi K50 series will come with the upcoming MIUI 13 pre-installed.

Now in a new piece of information by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, it has been shared that the upcoming Redmi K50 series will launch next year. According to him, all the devices in the series will arrive by the end of February in China. Further, the tipster also mentions that all the smartphones will come with MIUI 13, straight out of the box, which isn’t surprising as MIUI 13 is expected to launch this month only with the upcoming launch of Xiaomi 12,12x and 12X Pro.

The Redmi K50 series may come with a gaming edition smartphone also, just like the Redmi K40 Gaming aka POCO F3 GT, which was later launched in India as well. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition phone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The other variant in the series with a MediaTek processor is expected to be powered by the unannounced MediaTek Dimensity 7000 chipset under the hood. Let us now take a look at more details of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition specifications (expected)

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, is also expected to come with a 64MP quad-rear camera setup and it may also come with some cooling mechanism inside the smartphone, considering that it will be a gaming-centric smartphone. The smartphone is expected to house a 5000mAh battery, with either 67W or 120W fast charging support. Lastly, it appears Redmi will also offer IP68 certification for the device for added dust and water protection.
