After the launch of Android 12 by Google earlier this week, other major Android OEMs have also revealed plans to update their phones to Android 12. Vivo has finally released its rollout schedule for 31 smartphones under its S, V, X, and Y series, and it will begin rolling out the beta version of Funtouch OS 12 starting next month, with the X70 Pro+ being the first in line to receive it.
Vivo’s rollout schedule for Funtouch OS 12
With the Vivo X70 Pro+ starting to get the update by November end, by the end of next month, Vivo will release Android 12 beta for X60 Pro+, X60 Pro, X60, V21, and Y72 5G. The X70 Pro though launched alongside the X70 Pro+, will receive the update next year in January 2022, with V21e, V20 2021, V20, Y21, Y51A, and Y31 also receiving the update in the same month.
By the end of March 2022, older Vivo phones such as Vivo X50 Pro, X50, V20 Pro, V20 SE, Y33s, Y20G, Y53s, and Y12s will get the beta update. In April, other Vivo phones like the Vivo S1 and Vivo Y19 will start to get the update, with V17 Pro, V17, S1 Pro, Y73, Y51, Y20, Y20i, and Y30 receiving the update by the month-end.
Vivo hasn’t mentioned the stable update timeline for all of these phones, though we expect the stable update to arrive soon after the beta one. Though the Chinese units of Vivo phones run Origin OS, since the X70 series in international markets already runs Funtouch OS 12, you can expect the Android 12 beta update for the smartphones mentioned above to come with Funtouch OS 12 on top. The update timeline mentioned above is specific to Indian devices only, with the rollout plan for the other countries to be specified separately.
