Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 series yesterday in China. The lineup, which consists of the vanilla Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11 Pro+, won’t stay exclusive to the Chinese market for long. After the Redmi Note 10 series, the brand could be gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 11 series in India soon. Judging by what we have spotted today, it looks like the Indian launch of the Redmi Note 11 series is not too far away from now. However, the phones could arrive with different names.
Redmi Note 11 series India launch imminent, but…
First up, we have spotted the Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ on the Google Supported devices list, which has revealed their respective model numbers. The Redmi Note 11 Pro has the model number 2109111C, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has the model number 21091116UC.
Upon further crawling, we were able to map the Indian variants of both these devices on the Indian BIS certification and the IMEI database (21091116I and 21091116UC). This means that the Indian launch of the Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ might be imminent.
Yet another rebrand?
Something interesting and worth noticing is the fact that the Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ have not been registered under the Redmi branding on either of the databases. These are “Xiaomi” smartphones for the Indian market. So, unless there’s a last moment change, there are high chances that we might get to see both these smartphones launch in India with a different name. This won’t be the first time that we’d see Xiaomi pull of such a thing and quite frankly, this won’t be surprising for anyone. That said, this would also mean that there would be a separate Redmi Note 11 lineup for the country.
Our finding, though based on simple facts, does not guarantee a rebrand, however, so we’d suggest our readers take things with a slight grain of salt till the time things become officially clear. That being said, one thing is certain – the Redmi Note 11 series of smartphones is indeed launching in India soon now. Oh, we missed the Redmi Note 11 eh? Well, before we wrap up this story, let’s address the vanilla variant as well. Turns out the Redmi Note 11 5G Chinese variant’s model number maps with the upcoming POCO M4 Pro 5G, meaning yet another rebrand from Xiaomi is imminent. The POCO M4 Pro 5G is set to launch globally on November 9th, 2021. So far, this is all that we know of, but we will keep you posted, should we receive any more intel on the global/Indian launch of these devices.
