Not too long ago, iQOO unveiled its iQOO 8 series of smartphones in China. In its home country, the iQOO 8 series comprises two devices (for now) – the vanilla iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Pro. For India, however, things could be a tad bit different and from what we know so far, iQOO is to launch the iQOO 8 and the iQOO 8 Legend soon in India. As a matter of fact, we exclusively leaked this fact a little while ago. And today, we have spotted the iQOO 8 Legend (Indian variant) on the TUV Rheinland certification website, which sheds light on some interesting fact. Let’s take a look.
iQOO 8 Legend India launch imminent
As seen in the TUV Rheinland certification screenshot above, the iQOO 8 Legend (with the moniker I2017) has recently been certified. The letter “I” stands for Indian variant in iQOO’s nomenclature, so this is clearly the one launching in the country. Plus, the device has been listed alongside the Chinese iQOO 8 (model number V2136A), which could possibly mean that the Indian iQOO 8 Legend could be nothing but a rebranded iQOO 8 from China.
Now, this leaves us with the question as to which smartphone will fill the iQOO 8 moniker shoes in India. There are high chances that the brand might rename one of its Neo series smartphones and launch it in India as the iQOO 8. This, however, is uncertain for now, so we might as well take this with a slight grain of salt till the time the brand makes it otherwise confirmed.
Speaking of the iQOO 8 Legend, if at all it is a rebranded iQOO 8, we are looking at a device with a 6.56-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the iQOO 8 Legend will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The device will feature a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. At the front, the device will flaunt a 16MP selfie shooter. The iQOO 8 Legend will sport a 4,350mAh battery with 120W fast charging (if at all the brand receives the certification for 120W, otherwise it might end up with a 65W fast charger, as has its predecessor series in the past).
We will keep you posted on the iQOO 8 Legend and the iQOO 8 Indian variants if and when we receive any more intel on the same.
