Phones launched in India recently: iQOO Z5 5G, Motorola Edge 20 Pro, POCO C31, and more

Last week saw the release of several new smartphones in India. iQOO launched the new Z5 5G, Xiaomi announced the 11 Lite NE 5G, Samsung unveiled two new 5G devices, and Vivo launched the X70 series. Motorola also finally brought the Edge 20 Pro to India, and we also saw the budget POCO C31 being announced. The Vivo X70 Pro Plus is the first phone in the country to use the Snapdragon 888+ processor. Most of these new smartphones offer high-refresh-rate screens, 5G connectivity, and affordable price tags. Let’s take a look at all the new phones launched in India recently.

iQOO Z5 5G

iQOO Z5

The iQOO Z5 5G is a mid-range phone and is one of the many new phones launched in India that use the Snapdragon 778G processor. The phone is priced at Rs 23,990 for the base variant, and Rs 26,990 for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It features a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 4GB extended RAM for improved performance, a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support, and a triple rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel sensor. The Z5 gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 16-megapixel front camera. 

OPPO F19s

OPPO F19s

OPPO launched the F19s in India a couple of days ago, and it comes with a Snapdragon 662 chipset. The F19s is a mid-range phone that is priced at Rs 19,990 for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB variant. It gets a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and runs Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1. The phone features a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel main sensor and dual 2-megapixel sensors for depth and macro. A 16-megapixel sensor is available at the front for selfies and video calls.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G and Galaxy F42 5G

Samsung unveiled two new phones this week, the Galaxy M52 5G, and the Galaxy F42 5G. The former is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G processor, whereas the latter uses the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The Galaxy M52 5G price starts at Rs 29,999, whereas the Galaxy F42 5G is cheaper and starts from Rs 20,999.

The Galaxy M52 comes with a 6.7-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a 64-megapixel triple rear camera setup, a 32-megapixel front camera, and houses a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. 

Samsung Galaxy F42 5G

The Galaxy F42 5G is a cheaper smartphone and comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display that offers a 90Hz refresh rate. It also gets a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 5,000mAh battery. However, the F42 5G offers 18W fast charging support and has an 8-megapixel front camera.  

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G

Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G

Xiaomi’s first self-branded smartphone launched in India this week and is called the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G. It is priced at Rs 26,999 for the base variant and Rs 28,999 for the top variant. The phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset and features a super slim 6.81mm body. It comes with a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. The device has a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel main camera, and a 20-megapixel front-facing unit. It packs a 4,250mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The smartphone also gets Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, dual speakers, NFC, and runs Android 11 out of the box. 

POCO C31

POCO C31 India launch teaser

POCO announced its newest budget smartphone in India earlier this week called the POCO C31. This phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 processor, and starts at Rs 8,499, with the 4GB RAM and 64GB variant priced at Rs 9,499. It features a 6.53-inch HD+ display, a polycarbonate body, a triple-rear camera setup with a primary 13-megapixel sensor, and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 5,000mAh battery, and runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top. 

Vivo X70 series

The newest Vivo X70 series from the Chinese manufacturer consists of the Vivo X70 Pro and the Vivo X70 Pro Plus. The Pro variant starts at Rs 46,990 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and goes up to Rs 52,990 for the 12GB+256GB model. Meanwhile, the Vivo X70 Pro Plus is priced at Rs 99,999 for the sole 12GB+256GB variant.

The Vivo X70 Pro gets a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It has a quad-rear camera setup with ha 50-megapixel primary Sony sensor, and a 32-megapixel front camera. The phone houses a 4,450mAh battery with 44W fast charging and comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Vivo X70 Pro Plus

On the other hand, the X70 Pro Plus is the first phone in India to be powered by the Snapdragon 888+ processor. It gets a 6.78-inch QHD+ Samsung E5 AMOLED 120Hz display, a quad-camera setup with a primary 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor with gimbal OIS, and a custom V1 image processing chip. The phone gets a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging support.

Motorola Edge 20 Pro

Motorola Edge 20 Pro

Finally, Motorola also launched its much-awaited Edge 20 Pro smartphone in India this week. This phone is priced at Rs 36,999 and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor and features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The Edge 20 Pro gets a triple rear camera setup with a primary 108-megapixel sensor, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 4,500mAh battery that offers 30W fast charging support. The phone gets an in-display fingerprint scanner and runs stock Android 11 OS with some Moto features.
