At the Reliance AGM 2021 on Thursday, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the ultra-affordable Jio Phone Next. This is an upcoming 4G smartphone from Jio and Google. The company announced a few key features of the Jio Phone Next and showed off the phone’s design as well. While the Jio Phone Next specifications are still under wraps, the company did reveal the launch date. The Jio Phone Next sale date in India is September 10th. Ahead of the release, here’s a closer look at the phone’s design through clear renders provided by Jio.
Jio Phone Next design revealed
The Jio Phone Next is an ultra-affordable smartphone, which means it will come with bare-boned specifications. The design is fairly simplistic, with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. There’s a power button and volume controls on the right side of the frame. The plastic rear panel has a pattern finish and we see rear-firing speakers on the bottom of the panel. The pill-shaped camera module has a single camera sensor and an LED flash. We also notice a slit along with the frame, which suggests the rear panel is removable. You will be able to change the panel but it’s unclear if the battery is removable as well.
Jio Phone Next features include voice assistance, automatic read-aloud of screen text, language translation, smart camera with augmented reality filters, and more. The complete Jio Phone Next specifications are yet to be revealed. Jio has also not revealed the Jio Phone Next price in India, but Mukesh Ambani assures it will be amongst the most affordable 4G smartphones in India and the world. This suggests the phone will be priced well under Rs 15,000.
