That said, don’t get too excited as former and current parliamentarians in India have started calling for a blanket ban on the game. Former Union Minister and current Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering recently wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi, requesting a ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India. He claims that the game is a rebranded version of PUBG Mobile India and Krafton India has employed workers from Tencent, a Chinese technology firm that was the leading investor of PUBG Mobile India.
“This is a mere illusion and a trick to relaunch the same game with minor modifications and collect user data of millions of our citizens, including our children and transfer it to foreign companies and the Chinese government,” Ering said in the letter that was also posted on Twitter. Ering also added that the terms and conditions of the Google Play Store listing of Battlegrounds Mobile India mention the term ‘PUBG Mobile’.

Who made PUBG Mobile India?
PUBG was developed and published by PUBG Corporation, which is a subsidiary of Krafton Inc. While the company launched the game for PC, it was the Chinese company Tencent Games that brought PUBG to mobile phones. After the ban in India, Krafton removed Tencent and took over the charge of publishing PUBG Mobile in India. The company did try to find Indian investors to revoke the ban, before announcing the new PUBG Mobile India game in November specifically designed for the Indian market. The game is said to provide a secure and healthy gameplay environment, with screen-time measurement tool, green-hit instead of red, and fully-clothed avatars.
