Foldable iPhone might have an 8-inch Samsung display
While the analyst had previously pointed that the first foldable iPhone will have a display size between 7.5 and 8 inches, he now claims that the first foldable iPhone will have an 8-inch display. The Android platform is not fully optimized for tablet usage. For example, it doesn’t fully utilize the screen real estate and the OS has very few tablet-focused features. Moreover, very few apps on Android support tablet mode. Apple, on the other hand, offers an excellent ecosystem for tablets. The iPadOS for iPads is much more intuitive compared to the Android OS on tablets. Plus, a vast number of apps on iOS are optimized for iPad. If Apple launches a foldable iPhone that can also act as a tablet, then Apple might offer a class-leading tablet experience. And this is what will give Apple an advantage with its first foldable iPhone, said Kuo.
“At present, the product position of foldable smartphones is mainly to integrate the smartphone and tablet. But we believe that the foldable smartphone is only one of the applications of the foldable design. We predict that foldable devices will blur the product segmentations between smartphones, tablets, and laptops in the future. With its cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages, Apple will be the biggest winner in the new foldable device trend.” Kuo added.
