Samsung Galaxy S21 series of smartphones are set to launch globally and in India today. The series is set to include the vanilla Galaxy S21 as well as the Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Also expected at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event today are the Galaxy Buds Pro, which are Samsung’s next-generation truly wireless earphones, and the Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth tracker. Samsung Galaxy S21 pre-bookings in India opened on January 8 via Samsung India’s e-store. The smartphones are set to be powered by Samsung’s latest flagship chipset, the Exynos 2100, which features an integrated 5G modem and 40% percent faster graphics as compared to the previous generation Exynos 900. All three smartphones are expected to feature a similar design with a unique rear camera module that bleeds into the corners. The S21 Ultra is also expected to support the S Pen.

The Galaxy S21 series will be unveiled at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event later today. The virtual event will begin at 8:00 pm IST and will be streamed live on Samsung India’s website as well as Samsung India’s official YouTube channel.

The Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, S21 Ultra are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC or Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 chipset, depending on the region. This is set to be paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. Rumors point towards the inclusion of a microSD card slot as well, which will allow users to expand the storage. Additionally, the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra are said to be fueled by a 4,000mAh, a 4,800mAh, and a 5,000mAh battery respectively.
The flagships are expected to run Android 11 with Samsung’s OneUI 3.0 custom skin on top. Connectivity features could include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. On the imaging front, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is said to feature a quad-camera setup at the back, comprising of a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a couple of 10MP lenses. The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus on the other hand are expected to have triple sensors at the back with a 12MP primary camera, a 64MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S21 series price in India (expected)
Recent reports indicate a starting price of EUR 849(around Rs 76,000) for the vanilla Galaxy S21 model. The Galaxy S21 Plus is expected to start at EUR 1,049 (around Rs 93,000) and the Galaxy S21 Ultra is rumored to carry an initial price tag of EUR 1,399 (around Rs 1,24,600). The official prices will be unveiled at the launch event today.
