FAU-G Lite may launch for budget phones if players demand: nCore founder

Highlights
  • FAU-G will primarily be targeted mid-range and high-end smartphones at launch
  • The decision to launch the lite version of the game basis user feedback
  • FAU-G is claimed to have received around five to seven million users interests till date

The FAU-G India launch date is January 26th, with the highly-anticipated game garnering over 1 million pre-registrations in just 24 hours. Now, ahead of the FAU-G launch in India, Vishal Gondal, founder of nCore Games, the developer of FAU-G (short for Fearless And United: Guards), has told BGR.in that there can be FAU-G Lite version if users feel the need for it.We will first wait for the feedback from our users on the first version of FAU-G and then, if required, release a Lite version of the game in the near future,” said Gondal. However, no timeline for the FAU-G Lite launch has been revealed at the moment.

Furthermore, Gondal has said the FAU-G will mainly target mid-range and high-end smartphones at the time of launch. Based on the feedback the company receives from the players, it will decide whether to introduce a lite version of the game for budget and entry-level phones. Gondal has also highlighted that the first version of the FAU-G game will have a story mode rather than gameplay and it will revolve around Galwan Valley episode between the Indian and Chinese army. While he didn’t reveal details regarding the next version, the founder of nCore Games said that developers are currently working on improving the first version of FAU-G.

The executive had earlier clarified that FAU-G will not be a copy of PUBG and that there won’t be battle royale modes and more action gameplay at launch but will be available this year. Reiterating the same Gondal has said:

FAU-G is not going to be like PUBG Mobile or any of the existing battle royale games. We are working on many gaming modes and also battle royale game features, which will be released in the next six to eight months through an OTA update.

The game is initially expected to be available for Android via Google Play Store, meaning the iOS version may arrive at a later date. The game is available for pre-registration for a few weeks now and the company claims it has received around five to seven million users interests till date. The executive says the company doesn’t see FAU-G as India’s response to PUBG Mobile, instead, it is serving a different category. “We are not a clone of any game and have an identity of our own. We are serving a different product.” Lastly, speaking about user data, Gondal said, “The data will be stored on servers based within India and there’s no compromise on that bit.”
