Midway through the year, the smartphone industry seems to be gearing up for July’s array of launches and all these devices have some impressive hardware to root for. There are 13 new smartphones that are expected to drop in this July that will feature Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The smartphones are also expected to come with at least 100W fast charging support.
Multiple manufacturers have queued up for launching fresh new devices and the first one to hit the market would be the Xiaomi 12S which is expected to launch on July 4th. Hardware-rich brands such Realme, OnePlus, iQOO, Motorola, Nubia, Asus ROG, Lenovo, and Black Shark will also launch their devices soon after. High-end MediaTek Dimensity chipsets will also be found in many new launches this July.
13 new smartphones coming this July with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
Manufacturers are readying multiple new launches for the month of July and all the flagship-grade devices will receive high-end processors from Qualcomm and MediaTek. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor will find its place in many upcoming new launches while MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC will follow as a close ‘second variant’ offering. New devices with the Dimensity 9000+ chipset can also be expected. Moreover, all the new devices will come with at least 100W fast charging support and will only go up higher up the ladder.
Here’s a round-up of all the know devices that are expected to launch in July, starting with the Xiaomi 12S:
Xiaomi 12S
The Xiaomi 12S family will debut on July 4th and will consist of three models – the Xiaomi 12S, the Xiaomi 12S Pro and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The 12S Ultra is expected to be the most specification-rich model of the lineup and will come with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm. The device will be paired with a generous 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
Other models in the line-up, namely the Xiaomi 12S Pro and the Xiaomi 12S, could benefit from the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. All three devices are expected to come with a triple camera set up with the primary shooter being a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor. The Xiaomi 12S lineup will also be capable of 120W fast charging as reports so far suggest.
Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition
The Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition will be another new offering that will utilise the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The device’s China launch was recently confirmed and is expected to be held in July 2022. The Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition will pair the Qualcomm-sourced chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of RAM. The device will also carry other bells and whistles in the form of a 10bit AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP triple camera setup, Android 12 and more. The device is also expected to come with a very quick 150W charging capability.
OnePlus 10T
The OnePlus 10T is expected to debut sometime at the end of July and could be the brand’s last flagship device for India for this year (2022). The OnePlus 10T will utilise the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm and will pair it up with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The triple camera setup that would duty on the OnePlus 10T will have a 50MP Sony IMX766 as the primary shooter. The device is also expected to come with a 4,800mAh battery pack and is likely to support 150W fast charging.
iQOO 10
Vivo’s iQOO brand will soon debut the iQOO 10 flagship smartphone and multiple variants under the family are expected. The iQOO 10 could get two main variants – the iQOO 10 and the iQOO 10 Pro. The iQOO 10 Pro specifications that recently were leaked via TENAA highlighted the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC on board and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and upto 512GB of onboard storage. The device will also get a 200W fast charging support as well as an LTPO AMOLED panel, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and a 50MP triple camera setup at the back.
ASUS ROG Phone 6
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 will launch officially on July 5th and bring along Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon processor. The device recently broke cover and will continue to be the gaming-oriented high-performance flagship smartphone the brand has come to be known for. The device can be had with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 5,850mAh battery. As of now, the ROG Phone 6 is expected to come with 65W fast charging support, but given the battery size and the platform capability, a higher charging speed can be expected from the device at launch. Gaming-oriented accessories will also follow the launch of the device and the AeroActive Cooler 6 snap-on fan might also see the light of the day and will be a boon to keep the device from overheating.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra flagship smartphone was recently spotted on the 3C certification website which indicates a launch soon. The smartphone will debut sometime in July and the China launch is expected to take place first. Like the others on this list, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will utilise the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and will support 125W fast charging. The device, currently codenamed Frontier, might be called the X30 Pro in China and will also feature a 144Hz high refresh display panel, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of onboard storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. Interestingly the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will get a 200MP triple camera setup and a 60MP front camera.
Lenovo and Black Shark
Lenovo and Black Shark are also expected to launch flagship-grade smartphone devices in July. The devices will be paired to healthy doses of RAM and sizeable inbuilt storage. The Black Shark device could also adopt high-performance gaming-oriented features such as added cooling abilities and trigger buttons to accentuate the brand’s USP and user experience. Currently, the Black Shark 5S series has popped up on the radar with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood and is expected to also get a 144Hz AMOLED display, 120W fast charging, 108MP main camera sensor and 4,790mAh battery.
