Jio Re 1 recharge plan data and validity revised soon after launch, but is it better?

Highlights
  • Reliance Jio recently introduced a new affordable Re 1 prepaid recharge plan.
  • At the time of launch, the Re 1 recharge plan offered 100MB of high-speed data and 30 days validity.
  • The plan has been revised and it now offers 10MB data and 1-day validity.

Yesterday, we informed you about a new super-affordable recharge plan from Reliance Jio. The Jio Re 1 prepaid recharge plan, which was recently launched, initially offered 100MB high-speed 4G data and 30 days of validity. The plan was pretty flexible, as customers could even perform multiple Re 1 recharges and queue the pack to automatically get activated post expiration of the 100MB data. Things have changed pretty swiftly, however, as the Jio Re 1 prepaid recharge plan has now been revised. Take a look at the new benefits that come with the Reliance Jio Re 1 prepaid recharge plan.

Jio Re1 recharge plan revised

As mentioned earlier, the Jio Re 1 recharge plan initially offered 100MB of high-speed data and 30 days of validity. 100MB is not too much data to be consumed anyway, but one has to keep in mind that one would have to spend just Re 1 for the same. Plus, the pack could be stacked, so it would have made all the way more sense for the customer to make use of the Jio Re 1 recharge plan. Now, with things being revised, one gets to enjoy 10MB of high-speed daily data and the validity has now been reduced to just 1 day.

Is the revised Jio Re 1 recharge plan better?

The revised plan offers way fewer benefits when compared to what it initially offered. For instance, if you wanted to consume 100MB of data, you’d now have to spend Rs 10 for the same. If, on the other hand, you just wanted your phone number to work, you’d have to spend Re 1 a day or Rs 30 a month instead of just Re 1 a month. So, the revised plan is not better than the initial plan by any means. There’s no denying that it’s still a pretty affordable recharge plan, it’s just not as good as what it used to be.
