Xiaomi has launched two new devices – or rather old – devices just ahead of the festival season starts. They are called the Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport and we are not sure why they exist. The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport are identical to the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9i but with new colourways. They will go on sale today at 12 noon on Amazon and Flipkart, respectively. Both these devices will also be available on mi.com, Xiaomi’s official online store in India. Here’s a quick look at the prices and specifications of the Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport.
Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport prices in India
The Redmi 9A Sport is priced at Rs 6,999 for the 2GB + 32GB variant and Rs 7,999 for the 3GB + 32GB variant. The Redmi 9i Sport will be priced at Rs 8,799 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs 9,299 for the 4GB + 128GB variant. Both the phones comes in Carbon Black, Coral Green, and Metallic Blue colour options.

The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport are budget offerings from Xiaomi India as they wear a sub-Rs 10,000 price tag. Both the devices feature the MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. The processor on the Redmi 9A Sport will be paired with 2GB or 3GB RAM options both with 32GB internal storage. While the chipset on the Redmi 9i Sport will be paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage It is good to note that the device will get expandable storage via a dedicated microSD card slot and allows up to 512GB of storage. This means you can use two sims and a microSD card simultaneously without having to let go of either one.
The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport will feature a 6.53 inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with 1600×720 pixels. The panel glows up to 400 nits of brightness and is certified by TÜV Rheinland. They also pack in a 13MP main camera which is assisted by AI and an LED flash. Upfront there is a 5MP selfie shooter housed inside a water-drop style notch. The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport also pack in a massive 5000mAh battery with up to 10W of fast charging. Both the devices get a textured back finish and a P2i nano-coating that protects it from minor splashes. Both the devices are offered in three colour choices – Metallic Blue, Coral Green and Carbon Black. The Redmi 9A Sport and Redmi 9i Sport each measure 9mm in thickness and weigh in at 194grams.
