An international variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro carrying the model number LE2121 was spotted running ColorOS 12 based on Android 12. Earlier this year, OnePlus and OPPO decided to streamline operations by merging their software codebase. A few days ago, the two companies announced a unified OS that will roll out to older OnePlus phones in 2022. This unified OS, temporarily called OxygenOS 2.0, will bring the best of two worlds – fast and smooth UI along with reliable updates. Recently, a Redditor posted an image that shows the OnePlus 9 Pro running on ColorOS 12 instead of OxygenOS, which suggests the end of OxygenOS is nigh.
OnePlus 9 Pro running on ColorOS 12?
An international variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro was spotted running ColorOS 12 based on Android 12. The OnePlus 9 Pro model looks like a testing rig for the software and technically falls into the schedule as a lot of companies test out new software months before launching. The leaked picture (via GizChina) shows off the about page of the OnePlus 9 Pro and clearly mentions ColorOS 12 running on the OnePlus 9 Pro with 12GB of RAM. We can’t verify the authenticity of this image so you should take it with a pinch of salt. The upcoming unified OS will likely have a new name rather than OPPO’s ColorOS.
While we are talking about the OnePlus 9 Pro, you should know that it is the last flagship phone from the brand in 2021. The company has confirmed that it won’t be launching the OnePlus 9T or OnePlus 9T Pro this year. The OnePlus 9 Pro is a powerhouse of a phone as it uses the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor from Qualcomm. The phone also touts a bright and vivid 6.7-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Another major highlight of the OnePlus 9 Pro is that it gets Hasselblad-branded cameras. The rear quad-camera system includes a 48MP Sony IMX789 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The OnePlus 9 Pro is currently priced at Rs 64,999 in India.
