iQOO 8, iQOO 8 Pro launched with 120Hz display, 120W fast charging, and more: price, specifications

iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro flagship phones have been launched in China, as promised. These come as successors to the iQOO 7 series from earlier this year. The new iQOO flagships have a punch-hole camera, a rectangular rear camera module, and they also come in BMW M Motorsport editions. The iQOO 8 Pro touts a 2K E5 Samsung AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, a 4,500mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging, and 50W wireless charging. On the other hand, the iQOO 8 comes with a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 888 chipset, and a 48MP Sony primary sensor.

iQOO 8 price is RMB 3,799 (around Rs 43,600) for the 8GB/128GB model and RMB 4,199 (approx Rs 48,200) for the 12GB/256GB model. The phone comes in a Legendry Edition with BMW M Motorsport colour and a Black colour option.

Similarly, the iQOO 8 Pro price is RMB 4,999 (around Rs 57,300) for the 8GB+256GB storage model, RMB 5,499 (approx Rs 63,100) for the 12GB+256GB storage variant, and RMB 5,999 (around Rs 68,800) for the top-end 12GB+512GB storage version. It comes in Legendary BMW M Motorosport Edition and Track striped Black colour.

Both phones are currently up for pre-orders in China. The standard iQOO 8 will go on sale starting from August 24th while iQOO 8 Pro will be on sale from August 26th.

iQOO 8 sports a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1,080 X 2,376 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 92.76 screen-to-body ratio, 398 PPI, and 19:8:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 11 with OriginOS 1.0 for iQOO on top. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port.

As for the optics, the iQOO 8 packs a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor with f/1.79 lens, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 lens, and a 13MP portrait lens with f/2.46 aperture. There is a 16MP selfie snapper with an f/2.45 aperture and an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock for security. It has a 4,350mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It measures 159.06×75.14×8.63mm and weighs 199.9 grams.

iQOO 8 Pro specifications

iQOO 8 Pro sports a larger 6.78-inch 2K Samsung E5 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 92.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, 517 PPI, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 1.07 billion colours, and DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on Android 11-based OriginOS 1.0 custom skin on top and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging, 50W fast wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Moving to cameras, the iQOO 8 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX766V primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture and gimbal stabilisation, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 16MP portrait lens with f/2.23 aperture. There is a 16MP snapper on the front with an f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video chats. The Pro model gets an ultrasonic 3D wide-area in-display fingerprint sensor. It measures 165.01×75.2×9.19mm and weighs 202.5 grams. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port.
