Some time ago, we stumbled upon the Samsung Galaxy A22 4G (not to be confused with the Galaxy A22 5G from earlier) on Geekbench. Now, its sibling, the Samsung Galaxy M22 4G, has also made an appearance on the benchmarking platform (via MySmartPrice). Of late, Samsung seems to have a penchant for rebadging some of its devices under different lineups. The Samsung Galaxy M22 Geekbench listing further cements the speculation that it is a rebadged Galaxy A22 4G, as both smartphones have nearly identical specifications. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy M22 specifications on Geekbench.
As seen in the above listing, the Samsung Galaxy M22 4G nets a single-core score of 374 and a multi-core score of 1,361. This is within spitting distance of the Galaxy A22 4G’s scores of 293 and 1,247, respectively. Furthermore, both smartphones appear to be running a MediaTek MT6769 SoC, which is essentially the Helio G80, complete with two high-performance cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. This particular Galaxy M22 4G variant has 4GB of RAM and ships with Android 11 out of the box.

As the successor to the Samsung Galaxy M21s (and Galaxy M21), the Galaxy M22 4G could some significant improvements. For starters, the Helio G80 chipset is vastly superior to the Exynos 9611 that powered the M21 and M21s. It is unlikely that Samsung will improve the cameras, though. We can expect the Galaxy M22 4G to reuse the Galaxy M21s’ 64MP quad-camera array. The 6,000mAh battery will likely remain the same, too, along with the 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen.
