The Google Pixel Buds A-Series true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds have been in the news for quite a long time. These earbuds are said to come as affordable alternatives to the second-generation Pixel Buds. Recently, the design of the Pixel Buds A-Series was inadvertently revealed in an email sent to Google Nest users. Well, the brand now seems to have done another mistake. Today, Google accidentally announced the Pixel Buds A-Series (via 9to5Google). Yes, that is right. The brand did not display the earbuds accidentally. It actually announced the launch of the Pixel Buds A-Series by accident.
Pixel Buds A-series announced accidentally
Earlier today, Google posted a tweet from the official @Android account announcing the launch of the Pixel Buds A-Series. The tweet read “The new Pixel Buds A-series have arrived,” confirming the launch of the earbuds and the moniker as well. However, Google took down the tweet within ten minutes, suggesting that the brand might have announced the Pixel Buds A-series accidentally.
The tweet was accompanied by an image of the Pixel Buds A-Series, revealing its official design. As you can see in the image attached above, the Pixel Buds A-Series look similar to the Pixel Buds 2 with an oval-shaped charging case in a white colorway. There are, however, subtle differences between the two. While the inward-facing part of the Pixel Buds, as well as the interior of its charging case, are painted in black, the Pixel Buds A-Series have a gray color to them.
Along with it, the company has also announced that the Pixel Buds A-Series come with an “updated Fast Pair experience.” The earbuds are said to work on phones with Android 6.0 and above. According to Google, the Pixel Buds A-Series offer “Quality sound and quick Bluetooth pairing.” The tweet, however, did not mention the price or availability details of the Pixel Buds A-series.
Google Pixel Buds A-Series may be unveiled during I/O 2021 this month
Currently, there is no official information on how the Pixel Buds A-Series differ from the 2nd-gen Pixel Buds. Reports suggest that Pixel Buds A-series might miss out on the swipe volume gestures that are present in the Pixel Buds, to keep the costs low. Rumor has it that the Pixel Buds-A series will be announced during the brand’s I/O 2021 event that is scheduled to take place from May 18th to May 20th.
