ASUS ZenFone 8 and ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip India launch was confirmed by the company’s India head Dinesh Sharma but was delayed owing to the Covid-19 crisis across the country. The phones are expected to launch in India rebadged as ASUS 8Z and 8Z Flip. It looks like the phones are set to launch soon now as the ASUS 8Z and 8Z Flip support pages were briefly live on the company’s India website, as spotted by Mukul Sharma. To recall, the ASUS ZenFone 8 series was unveiled globally last week and it comes with high-end specifications such as an FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC, 64MP primary camera, and a 30W fast-charging support.
While the support pages reveal complete specifications what it doesn’t confirm is the ASUS 8Z series launch date in India. It shouldn’t be long before we learn more about the ASUS 8Z and ASUS 8Z Flip India prices and availability.
ASUS 8Z specifications
ASUS 8Z flaunts a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1100nits brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone ships with the Snapdragon 888 5G SoC coupled with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It packs a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging support and boots Android 11-based ZenUI 8 custom skin on top. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
ASUS 8Z features a dual-camera setup at the back, with a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor that has a macro mode. There is a 12MP front camera for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

ASUS 8Z Flip specifications
ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2,400 X 1,080 pixels resolution, HDR10+, 90Hz refresh rate, 200Hz touch sampling rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 6 layer. It is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G SoC coupled with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 11-based ZenUI 8 custom skin on top.
The ASUS 8Z Flip has a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 4cm macro mode, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging support and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
