The OnePlus 9 series launch in India is set for March 23rd and the company plans to reveal key features about the phones in the coming days. After teasing the OnePlus 9 Pro design earlier this week, OnePlus has now confirmed one of the camera sensors. The OnePlus 9 series will come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide camera. While we are certain this camera sensor will feature on the OnePlus 9 Pro, it is unclear whether the vanilla OnePlus 9 will get it as well. OnePlus 9 series launch is highlighted by the company’s partnership with Hasselblad. The focus is on cameras this time around and OnePlus aims to make the most of it by co-developing the cameras on the OnePlus 9 phones with Hasselblad.

OnePlus 9 Pro to use Sony IMX766 camera sensor
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera sensor. The camera will look to capture crisp and clear ultra-wide photos. This is in line with previous leaks regarding the OnePlus 9 Pro camera specifications. In addition to the 50MP wide-angle lens, the OnePlus 9 Pro is also expected to come with a 48MP IMX789 primary camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP sensor.

The OnePlus 9 series is confirmed to come with a new Hasselblad Pro Mode. The feature will look to offer “accurate and natural colour for a solid foundation for post-editing.” The Hasselblad Pro mode will provide professional photographers with the ability to adjust ISO, focus, exposure, white balance, and more.

OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro specifications are widely expected to include the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phones are also expected to come with a 120Hz display and up to QHD+ resolution. The OnePlus 9 phones should support the company’s latest 65W fast charging solution. We know that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with Hasselblad-branded quad cameras, but the OnePlus 9 may offer a triple camera system.
