  • New Mi 10 smartphone with Snapdragon 870 SoC to launch soon
  • Snapdragon 870 SoC shares most of the specs with Snapdragon 865+ SoC from last year
  • Snapdragon 870 SoC-powered Mi 10 price is said to be around Rs 39,500

Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to launch a new Mi 10 smartphone in China. This will be the ninth model in the company’s Mi 10 series after Mi 10 5G, Mi 10 Pro 5G, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10T 5G, Mi 10T Pro 5G, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10T Lite 5G, and Mi 10i 5G. Except for the last three, all models in the series rock the Snapdragon 865 SoC under the hood. The upcoming Mi 10 variant, however, will be powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 870 SoC, claims reliable tipster Digital Chat Station. Snapdragon 870 is a sub-flagship SoC from Qualcomm that shares most of its cues with Snapdragon 865+ mobile platform but touts a prime core clocked at 3.2GHz instead of 3.1GHz. The tipster also revealed the Snapdragon 870 SoC-powered Mi 10 price in China, but there is no word on the phone’s other specifications yet.

Mi 10 with Snapdragon 870 SoC price tipped

The all-new Mi 10 is said to be priced at RMB 3,500 in China that roughly translates to Rs 39,500 in the Indian currency. This is slightly cheaper than the company’s flagship Mi 11, which has Snapdragon 888 SoC ticking at its core and is retailing in the country starting at around Rs 45,000. The Mi 11 is rumoured to launch in India soon.

In related news, Xiaomi is also readying to launch Mi 11 Pro in China. The smartphone is expected to come with a camera sensor that’ll bear mind-boggling 200MP resolution. The handset will also reportedly employ up to 120x zooming capabilities. Additionally, Mi 11 Pro is said to be the world’s first smartphone to support 80W wireless charging solution. The phone’s other specifications may include a 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and a dedicated MEMC chip that will offer a real-time conversion of SD content to HD, adaptive screen refresh rate based on usage, and more.
