Both laptops come with a dedicated 5G-ready nano-SIM card slot to ensure that internet connectivity is established even in areas without a dedicated Wi-Fi connection. Furthermore, the notebooks come with a 360-degree hinge and a touch-enabled screen, allowing them to double up as tablets when needed. HP Elite Dragonfly G2 and HP Dragonfly Max are expected to be available in January
2021. Pricing will be available closer to availability.

HP Elite Dragonfly G2 specifications

The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 comes with fairly average specifications. For starters, CPU choices range between 11th-generation Intel Tiger Lake Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 models. HP will reveal the exact SKUs at a later date. There is no option to add a dedicated graphics card, so users have to make do with the integrated Intel Iris Xe iGPU. The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 2TB of solid-state storage. Unfortunately, all the RAM is soldered down, so further expansion is not possible.

The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 features a 13.2-inch IPS LCD panel that can be configured with FHD (1920 x 1080) panel, which comes in two flavours; one with 400 nits brightness and the other with 1,000 nits. There is a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) option too. It has a peak brightness of 550 nits. All variants come with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 pre-installed.

Other HP Elite Dragonfly G2 specifications include one USB 3.1 charging port, two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, and a single HDMI 1.4b port. Its 720p HD webcam is IR-enabled, allowing for Windows Hello functionality. The included privacy shutter allows users to shut off the webcam with the press of a button.

HP Elite Dragonfly Max specifications

The HP Elite Dragonfly Max bumps up the Elite Dragonfly G2’s specs up a notch. CPU options are limited to 11th-generation Intel Core i3 and Core i5 models. The GPU, maximum storage, and RAM options are the same as the Elite Dragonfly G2. For reasons best known only to HP, the HP Elite Dragonfly Max’s 13.3-inch IPS LCD panel comes in only one variant with FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution. It, too, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Input options on the HP Elite Dragonfly Max are the same as the Elite Dragonfly G2. However, the notebook gets a significantly better 5MP webcam and four microphones, making it better suited for teleconferencing. Wireless connectivity modes include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and Miracast. Lastly, the HP Elite Dragonfly is powered by a 56Wh battery that support’s HP’s in-house fast charging technology. HP claims that the battery can be charged to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
