Honor V40 price and specifications have been officially announced in China and it is the first phone to launch post the Huawei-Honor separation in November. To recall, Huawei sold its Honor brand owing to difficulties with the supply chain caused by US sanctions. Though Honor mostly operated independently, it relied on Huawei for its HiSense’s Kirin processors. This could also mean that the Honor V40 global variant (called Honor View 40) could come with Google Play Services installed. The Honor V40 features a pill-shaped dual punch-hole display, a curved waterfall screen, and a rectangular rear camera module with triple sensors. Honor V40 5G price in China for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is RMB 3,599 (around Rs 40,600). The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at RMB 3999 (approx Rs 45,200). The phone is already available in China and comes in Night Black, Titanium Silver, Rose Gold colour options.

Honor V40 sports a 6.72-inch full HD+ OLED waterfall display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1236 x 2679 pixels resolution, 80-degree super large curvature, P3 wide colour gamut, 93 percent screen-to-body ratio screen ratio, and TUV Rheinland global eye protection certification 2.0. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone runs on Android 10 OS with Magic UI 4.0 and since it’s separated from Huawei, the global variant may come with Google Play Services installed.

Moving to optics, the Honor V40 has triple cameras with a 50MP primary sensor that uses RYYB ultra-light-sensing technology, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor for close up shots. It has an LED flash and laser autofocus housed within the camera module as well. On the front, the phone gets a 16MP dual-camera system for selfies and video chats. The Honor V40 packs a 4,000mAh battery and supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and GPS.
