Xiaomi Mi 11 launched with Snapdragon 888, 108MP triple cameras, and more: price, specifications

The Mi 11 price, specifications, and design have been officially announced at an event in China, as promised. The successor to the Mi 10 brings quite a few upgrades to the table, primarily the rear-camera module has been redesigned. The Xiaomi Mi 11 design elements include a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner for the selfie camera, extremely slim bezels, and a curved screen for immersive viewing, Harmon Kardon speakers, and a glossy back panel. Key Xiaomi Mi 11 specifications include a 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, 108MP camera, a 4,600mAh battery, and the latest MIUI 12.5 custom skin. Mi 11 is the world’s first phone to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC.

Mi 11 price is RMB 3,999 (~Rs 45,000) for the 8GB + 128GB, while the 8GB + 256GB  variant costs RMB 4,299 (~Rs 48,400). Lastly, the top-end 12GB + 256GB model is priced at RMB 4,699 (~Rs 52,900). It will be available in Blue, White, and Black colour options. There’s also a special leather edition that will be offered in orange and purple colours. The smartphone is up for pre-orders starting today and will go on sale in China on January 1st.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has announced that it will sell the Mi 11 in two retail boxes, one with the charger and one without it. Both these versions will cost the same, i.e. buyers can get the charger free of cost.

Mi 11 flaunts a 6.81-inch E4 AMOLED QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, punch-hole cutout, 1500-nits brightness, 515ppi, DCI-P3, HDR10+, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone ships with a dedicated MEMC chip that is claimed to upscale SD content to HD quality. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone boots Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 custom skin on top. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

As for the cameras, the Mi 11 has triple cameras arranged in a square module at the back. It has a 108MP primary sensor with f/1.85 aperture, a 13MP (f/2.4 aperture) ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5MP (f/2.4 aperture) telephoto-macro camera. It has support for MEMC video frame technology, OIS, real-time SDR to HDR, and video super-resolution support. The selfie camera resolution is not clear at the moment. It is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, and liquid cooling tech. A 4,600mAh battery with 55W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging support fuels the phone.
