iPhone 13 launch timeline unlikely to face delays like iPhone 12 series: Ming-Chi Kuo

Highlights
  • The iPhone 13 will not face any production delays, unlike its predecessor, as per Kuo
  • Apple expected to launch the device sometime in September 2021.
  • Some expected iPhone 13 specs include a high-refresh-rate screen and an upgraded ultra-wide-angle lens.

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects that the iPhone 13 will be released on time in 2021. It appears that the company has sorted out its manufacturing woes and the iPhone 13 production will start this summer, indicating that the smartphone will be launched sometime in September 2021. This should come as a relief for iPhone aficionados, as the iPhone 12 launch was delayed by quite a bit thanks to the ongoing pandemic. Just how many iPhone 13 variants Apple has in store for us remains to be seen, but we can rest easy knowing that they’ll very likely make their debut together, unlike the iPhone 12 series, which saw a staggered release with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro being launched before the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max

Some rumours emerged about Apple running short on its 5nm A14 Bionic chipsets. Kuo says that this is nothing out of the ordinary and that these fluctuations are to be expected. However, Apple does seem to be facing a shortage of some camera components, which, in turn, is resulting in extended wait times for some customers. It is unclear as to when this issue will be resolved, so it may be a while before you can get your hands on an iPhone 12 Pro.

Given the fairly recent iPhone 12 launch, it is too early to guess what an iPhone 13 series has in store for us. We know that it’ll run an A15 Bionic chip very likely based on the same 5nm process node that its predecessor uses. Other projected iPhone 13 specs include an upgraded ultra-wide-angle lens, and a high-refresh-rate screen, among other things. The handset is also expected to offer up to 1TB storage.
