CEO Tim Cook has shared an interesting sales-related tidbit during Apple’s “Time Flies” Live Stream Event. It turns out that Apple has already managed to sell more than 500 million iPads over the last 10 years, ever since the first iPad launched back in 2010.
This is the first time Apple has disclosed any sales number regarding its tablets since November 2018, as it remains quite secretive and no longer reveal unit sales of iPads, iPhones, and Macs in its quarterly earnings reports.
Speaking of Apple iPads, more than half of iPad customers buying one right now are buying their first iPad ever, so this probably suggests that the tablet field could still be growing, especially with the ongoing pandemic conditions.
Apple has also restated that, unsurprisingly, iPads have the most customer satisfaction of any tablets, by far.
To make sure, in the near future, it moves even more of them; Apple has unveiled the new iPad Air 2020 that comes with the new A14 Bionic chip and design more closely resembling that of the iPad Pro and a refreshed 8th Gen entry-level iPad.
