Ever since Elon Musk has acquired Twitter, the social media platform has been witnessing frequent changes. Twitter Blue has been revamped and is now offering additional perks to those who have subscribed, ranging from a verification checkmark, more exposure to the Blue subscribers, all the way to the ability to change the Twitter icon colour. Speaking of the Twitter icon, the platform’s iconic logo can easily be identified from a mile, as the Blue Bird logo has more or less been imprinted on our minds.
After all, it should not take a genius to realize even the core feature of the platform, a Tweet more or less symbolizes the bird chirping. Things, however, are changing really fast, and now, the iconic Twitter Blue Bird logo has been replaced with, well, a Doge logo. Here’s everything you need to know about the new change.
Doge to the Twitter: platform gets a new icon
Twitter CEO, Elon Musk recently tweeted a meme-tweet, which showed Doge showing their identification card to a police officer and claiming that the photo on the card is old. This led many to speculate that the Twitter logo might be changing soon and changed it is. If you open Twitter on the web, you will notice that the Blue Bird logo has now been replaced with a new Doge logo. The logo is working just fine for the purpose it primarily solves (jumping straight to the homepage), but is currently the talk of the Twitter town, as even the hashtag #TwitterLogo has been trending for hours now.
For those wondering as to why the change has been implemented, there appears to be no technical reason for the same, as the change appears to be more of a “told you” moment for Elon. Turns out, Mr. Musk had once had a conversation with a Twitter user, who suggested him to buy the platform and change the bird logo to a Doge. This conversation obviously happened before Elon took over Twitter, and appears to finally have lived up to his promise. He even Quote Retweeted the conversation earlier today:
Taking this tweet into consideration, the logo change appears to be a fun gig Elon has pulled off in the apt month of April, and in all likelihood, the Blue Bird logo will make a comeback. Or… will it?
