Rumours surrounding the launch of the iPhone SE 4 have been popping up for quite some time now. The device is said to launch sometime next year, but leaks have already started flooding the internet. As per a new report, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature an OLED panel supplied by BOE, which would necessarily mean that Apple would be able to cut some costs by supplying the device with a relatively cheaper OLED panel compared to the one that’s potentially going to be used with the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup.

According to a report by The Elec, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature a 6.1-inch OLED panel, which will be manufactured by BOE. The move is pretty much understandable, as the BOE-supplied OLED panel will likely cost around $40, while the ones which are going to be used for the upcoming iPhone 15 models and the OLED iPad models (manufactured by Samsung Display and LG Display) are likely to cost around $100.
This way, Apple might be able to keep the pricing of its affordable iPhone SE 4 in check. For those unaware, the iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to inherit the iPhone 14 body and some of its components, even some specifications for that matter. This potentially means that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 could very well become the first-ever iPhone SE device to feature an OLED panel. In all likelihood, the iPhone SE 4 will make use of a 6.1-inch LTPO panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 15 series devices, on the other hand, are more than likely to feature Apple’s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate displays.
