Watch: Workers protest at Apple iPhone factory in China

The trigger for the protests appears to be a plan to delay bonus payments, many of the demonstrators said on livestream feeds. Some reports, quoting employees, say that the company changed terms of their pay. Earlier this month, discontent over strict quarantine rules, Foxconn’s inability to stamp out outbreaks and poor conditions including shortages of food reportedly caused some workers to flee the Zhengzhou factory campus.
