5G services were introduced in India last month and shortly after, several Android smartphone makers started pushing out updates to enable 5G. Apple iPhone users have had to wait so far in order to be able to enjoy 5G speeds on their devices, but as it turns out, if you are enrolled in the iOS beta programme, you will get Apple’s 5G update for India next week.
iOS 16 beta users to get 5G update next week
According to an exclusive report by The Indian Express, Apple 5G update will be rolled out for users in India who have enrolled themselves in the iOS beta programme. While the exact date for the rollout has not been revealed yet, we still have a tentative week for the same now. If you have a 5G-ready iPhone device and are running the iOS 16 beta build, your device will start supporting 5G in the country as early as next week. However, in order for you to be able to access 5G, your network provider must be 5G capable, and you have to be in a 5G-supported region as well.
As far as the 5G support by telcos is concerned, Apple users on Airtel and Jio who have participated in the Beta Software Program will be able to try out 5G before others. If, you are using the stable iOS build, you need to wait for a little longer, December to be precise. So, if you are not in too much hurry and are a little concerned about inconsistencies and bugs in the beta build, it’s better that you wait it out for around one more month and then start using 5G services.
5G-compatible iPhone
For those unaware, iPhone 14 series devices, iPhone 13 series devices, iPhone 12 series devices, and the iPhone SE 3rd generation are compatible with 5G, so these are the ones which are going to receive the beta software update next week and the stable update next month.
