Google recently announced its ‘Made by Google’ event for October 6, where the company is set to launch the Google Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch. Few weeks ahead of the Google event, we are now hearing about a Google Pixel “mini” in the works. According to a report from a noted tipster, the Mountain View, California-based giant is working on a Pixel Mini.
A new report from Digital Chat Station has said that Google made be working on a small-screen flagship, which is code-named Neila. The tipster also said that the mini Google Pixel will come with a similar design to its elder siblings, with a centred hole-punch display and the two-tone back panel design with the camera visor.
Currently, this is all the information that the tipster has given us about the Pixel Mini. This comes at a time when Apple has discontinued its small-screen iPhone Mini models, in favour of an iPhone 14 ‘Plus’ to cater to the growing popularity of big screen smartphones. Reports, however, suggest that the iPhone 14 Plus pre-bookings have been lower than that of the iPhone 13 Mini from last year.
It is unlikely that we will hear anything about the mini Google Pixel during the October 6 ‘Made by Google’ event. During the event, Google is expected to launch the Google Pixel 7 series, along with the first smartwatch from the tech giant, the Google Pixel Watch.
Right now, the smallest model of the Google Pixel is the Google Pixel 6a, which was launched a couple of months earlier. The Google Pixel 6a comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display, it is powered by a Google Tensor chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary shooter and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens.
