OnePlus has officially confirmed the arrival of a new Ace series smartphone, dubbed the OnePlus Ace Pro. If you have been following the leaks and rumours of the upcoming OnePlus 10T 5G, you are probably already aware of pretty much everything about the OnePlus Ace Pro as well, as the device will be a renamed version of the OnePlus 10T 5G for China and will launch on August 3rd in the country. As for the rest of the world, interested buyers won’t have to wait, as the OnePlus 10T 5G is also set to launch on August 3rd. Today, OnePlus has showcased the first look of the OnePlus Ace Pro and has confirmed a bunch of its key specifications. Let’s take a look.
OnePlus Ace Pro first look officially teased
As seen in the pictures above, this is what the OnePlus Ace Pro will look like. The device will feature almost the same design as that of the OnePlus 10 Pro. At the back, we can see the OnePlus Ace Pro making room for a triple rear camera setup and an LED flash, but there’s no mention of Hasselblad this time around. The device will be made available in Black and Green colour options. The power button will be on the right side of the device, while the volume up and down buttons will be on the left. Sadly enough, the OnePlus Ace Pro will ditch the company’s iconic alert slider.
According to The Verge, OnePlus decided to let go of the alert slider to make room for the components needed for a high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and better antenna signal. Adding the alert slider would have added to the overall weight and the thickness of the device, as per the report. For those unaware, the OnePlus Ace Pro will feature 15 separate antennas for a supposedly better signal reception in all orientations. Similarly, the Hasselblad branding has been done away with since OnePlus “wanted to offer an ultimate performance flagship smartphone at the device’s chosen price point,” according to OnePlus chief designer Hope Liu. The camera details of the OnePlus 10T aka the OnePlus Ace Pro have officially been revealed.
Moving on to the front, we can see that the OnePlus Ace Pro will feature a centrally-aligned single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The device will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
OnePlus 10T 5G specifications (expected)
The OnePlus Ace Pro is said to feature a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display. At the back, the device is tipped to come with a 50MP + 50MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup and at the front, we can expect a 32MP selfie snapper. Coming to the battery of the device, the OnePlus Ace Pro will likely feature a 4,800mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging. Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship processor, which will be paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS3.1 storage. Lastly, the OnePlus Ace Pro will boot Android 12-based ColorOS skin out of the box.
