Leaks and rumours surrounding the upcoming Google Pixel 6a smartphone have been popping up on the internet for quite some time now. The device is supposedly going to launch in the global market during the upcoming Google I/O 2022, starting May 11th. While there’s been no word whether the Google Pixel 6a will launch in India or not, a new leak suggests that a new Pixel-series smartphone is currently undergoing private testing in the country, which could likely be the Google Pixel 6a.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma (stufflistings), a new Google Pixel smartphone is currently ongoing private testing in India. Though he is not completely sure of the device’s moniker, there are chances that it could be none other than the Google Pixel 6a itself.

For those unaware, the Google Pixel 6a, as per previous certification listings, will come in four models – GX7AS, GB17L, G1AZG and GB62Z. As far as the specifications go, the Google Pixel 6a is said to feature a compact 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the device is likely going to be the brand’s in-house Tensor processor, which will be paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Coming to the battery of the device, the Google Pixel 6a is said to feature a 4,500mAh battery with support for 20W+ fast charging. In terms of software, the Google Pixel 6a will boot Android 12 out of the box, but won’t take too long to introduce the users with the latest Android 13. Another report suggests that the Google Pixel 6a will feature support for facial recognition as well.
