NHEV sets up India’s largest EV charging station in Gurugram that can charge 100 EVs at once

National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV), in partnership with Alektrify, has set up a new EV charging station in Gurgaon. The new charging station with 121 charging hubs, the biggest charging station in India, has been set up in Sector 86 of Gurugram. The new EV charging station comes within a month of setting up another charging station in Gurugram Sector 52, with 100 charging hubs. The new charging station offers 121 charging points for four-wheelers EVs. Out of 121 charging points, 75 are AC charging points, 25 DC points, and 21 Hybrid charging points. The charging station can charge a maximum of 100 electric cars at once and 1000 cars in a day.

An AC charger takes up to 6 hours to charge an electric car, and one can charge 4 electric cars in a day. The charging station has 95 such chargers, which can charge 570 cars every day. Meanwhile, the fast DC charger takes an hour to charge an electric car and can charge a maximum of 24 cars in a day. The Sector 86 charging station has 25 such DC chargers capable of charging 600 electric cars daily.

NHEV plans to make two more charging stations of the same scale in Noida for the Delhi–Agra E-Highway. The further plan is to construct 30 more E-highway charging stations within 90 days from their date of allocations to PSUs/private entities.

During the inauguration of the Sector 82 charging station, Abhijeet Sinha, Project Director of National Highway for Electric Vehicles, said, “This is our 2nd prototype station constructed in a record 30 days time for Delhi – Jaipur E-Highway, 2 more stations of same size and scale will be installed in Noida within 60 days for Delhi–Agra E-Highway which will conclude the prototype modeling of E-hubs. 30 more E-Highway charging stations will be constructed within a record time of 90 days from their date of allocations to PSUs / Private entities.”

Sudhendu J. Sinha, Adviser, Infrastructure Connectivity & Electric Mobility, NITI Aayog, said, “NHEV has not only made a 30 days record of building largest station in size but also the most profitable station in the nation which shall include battery swapping and significant revenue amenities to compete with Diesel – Petrol Pumps earnings. I inaugurated another NHEV station Alektrify in Sector 52 of Gurugram only 30 days back which recorded 72 percent utilization and operated on 36-month breakeven tenure. This NHEV model has come up very strong among other charging ecosystems and I congratulate the NHEV team for this 2nd success and looking forward to their upcoming stations in NOIDA.”
