Realme is gearing up for the launch of its Realme GT 2 lineup of smartphones. The Realme GT 2 series is expected to consist of the vanilla Realme GT 2 and the Realme GT 2 Pro. Earlier this week, Realme teased that its Realme GT 2 series will feature the industry’s first-ever paper-like material for its rear panel. Realme GT 2 series to feature several new technologies

Chase, Realme’s CMO, took to the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo to announce that the Realme GT 2 lineup of smartphones would feature a paper-like design. Chase can be seen making use of the Realme GT 2 Pro device, so it’s more likely that the brand will make use of this unique sort of texture for the Pro variant. That being said, nobody would be ‘unhappy’ if the same treatment was provided to the Vanilla Realme GT 2. For now, it is rather unclear as to what exactly he meant by “paper technology,” but speculation is rife that Realme might make use of some sort of eco-friendly material this time around.

In yet another post, Chase revealed that the Realme GT 2 Pro will flaunt a whopping 150-degree ultra-wide lens. Though there’s no mention of the resolution of this lens, we have already reported that the Realme GT 2 Pro will sport a triple rear camera setup – 50MP + 50MP (ultra-wide) + 8MP. On the front, the device will sport a 32MP selfie snapper.

Coming to the specifications of the device, the Realme GT 2 Pro is tipped to sport a large 6.8-inch WQHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will come equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G mobile platform. On the software side of things, the Realme GT 2 Pro is expected to boot Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 skin out of the box. Lastly, the device is tipped to feature a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W of fast charging.
