Honor has officially confirmed it is working on a foldable phone, the Honor Magic V. A new teaser image shared by the company offers a glimpse of the handset and the hinge holding the dual screens together. However, it isn’t clear whether the device has a Galaxy Fold-like design or a Galaxy Z Flip-like look. But if we were to guess, we suspect it may have a clamshell design considering the name Magic V. The upcoming foldable is expected to have flat edges on the front, probably for good in-hand grip. Unfortunately, no other details about the Honor Magic V are revealed at the moment but there are reports suggesting the phone may debut in China in January 2022.
According to the noted tipster, Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic V is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It is tipped to be priced at RMB 10,000 (roughly Rs. 1.18 lakh). We can speculate the phone could have an AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 5G connectivity, multiple camera sensors, led by a large single sensor and Google Mobile Services. We should know complete specifications when it launches next month.
Separately, Honor Play 30 Plus 5G has been launched in China. The handset sports a 6.74-inch TFT LCD display with 1,600×720 pixels resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 128GB of storage. It runs on Android 11 based Magic UI 5.0 and packs a 5000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. There is a dual-camera setup on the back, with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth lens. There is a 5MP selfie snapper on the front. It comes in Silver, Black, Gold, and Blue colour options.
