Netflix is working on bringing its games to the App Store for iOS users by working its way around Apple’s rules. Last week, the streaming giant launched Netflix Games for Android. The games are based on popular Netflix titles. The company has already confirmed that its games will make it to iOS, but it will have to get around Apple’s stricter guidelines. Netflix’s games are slated to be available on the App Store. These games are available via Google Play Store as stand-alone downloadable apps.
Netflix already has a host of games related to the content it streams on its site. For Android users, it can be explored via the Netflix app itself. The games tab in the Android version of the Netflix app redirects you to the Google Play Store page upon selection of a particular game. According to developer Steve Moser, this will soon come to iOS users.

Moser spoke to Bloomberg and has revealed that he has come across some interesting code on Netflix that shows the feasibility of a workaround to publish Netflix games on iOS devices. Mark Gurman via his Power On newsletter spoke about the same. The possible workaround here would be to download the game from Netflix on the App Store and sign in via your Netflix account. This technically abides by Apple’s guidelines, it is yet to be seen if Apple actually allows this not-so-elegant solution.
That said, there are no clear indications of the timeline of the launch. However, the company has already confirmed that it will be launching via Twitter that it will be launching its game services on iOS devices soon.
