Battlegrounds Mobile India developer team continues to ban cheaters in the game. The dev team recently announced that over 25 lakh accounts have been permanently banned for cheating. BGMI has also temporarily banned over 700,000 players temporarily. All of these accounts were banned in just over a month. Along with these, the dev team has revealed how it is taking stronger efforts to reduce the instances of cheating in BGMI. Just like any other multiplayer game, BGMI players frequently face cheaters in various game modes. The dev team’s active approach towards detecting and banning cheaters will hopefully reduce cheating in the game.

From October 1st to November 10th, the BGMI team has permanently banned 2,519,692 accounts and temporarily banned 706,319 accounts for cheating. The developer has also talked about four steps that it will double down on going forward:

  • Stronger cheat detection to detect cheats in near real-time and ban accounts using illegal means.
  • The BGMI team will now permaban first offenders, instead of handing out temporary bans.
  • The team will manually verify and ban high-ranking accounts that have used or promoted illegal programs.
  • The dev will monitor YouTube in real-time to block channels that promote illegal cheating programs.

Although banning BGMI accounts seems like a good solution, many cheaters create new accounts to play the game again. Unlike PC games, the BGMI team cannot access root files to block devices since it is a mobile game.
