Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Watch 2 and Redmi Note 11 series on 28th October. While all the attention till now has been on the Redmi Note 11 series, Xiaomi is also actively teasing the Redmi Watch 2. Now few days ahead of the launch, the price of the upcoming watch has now been teased through a listing on the Chinese website JD.com’s mobile application. The listing shows the Redmi Watch 2 price in China and specifications.
How much will Redmi Watch 2 cost?
According to the listing (via), the Redmi Watch 2 price will be set at CNY 399, which roughly translates to about Rs 4,700 in India. This would make the upcoming smartwatch pricier compared to the original Redmi Watch that launched at CNY 269 (approx Rs 3,000). In India, the Redmi Watch was launched at Rs 3,999. If the Redmi Watch 2 makes it to India, you can expect a sub-Rs 5,000 price tag.
Redmi Watch 2 specifications, features (expected)
The Redmi Watch 2 will feature a larger 1.6 inch AMOLED display, a huge improvement over its predecessor, the Redmi Watch, which had a 1.4 inch LCD display. The smartwatch is expected to offer a variety of fitness tracking features, alongside providing real-time notifications from a connected smartphone via Bluetooth. Redmi also teased that the new smartwatch will come with narrow bezels that will result in a larger screen-to-body ratio over the existing Redmi Watch.
Coming to the design, it continues to be a square-shaped dial with rounded corners. The watch is confirmed to launch in three distinct wrist strap colour options, namely Elegant Black, Ivory, and Space Blue (machine translated). The sides of the wearable will house a button for accessing and using items on the watch.
The Redmi Watch 2 could boast an impressive array of features, which include sleep monitoring, several sports modes, built-in GPS, a SpO2 sensor, and a heart-rate sensor. Its also expected to be water-resistant along with some sort of IP certification.
Redmi is also expected to launch the Redmi Note 11 series on 28th October alongside the launch of the new smartwatch. The Redmi Note 11 lineup will comprise of three models – Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus. We expect more details around the devices, as the event gets nearer.
