Realme‘s CEO Madhav Sheth in a new episode of the Ask Madhav web series on YouTube has clarified that there are no plans of bringing the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. Realme in August had launched two new devices, the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Master Edition, in India. However, Realme fans were also looking forward to the launch of the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. But the Realme executive has confirmed the phone will not come to India. Instead, the Realme GT Neo2 has been scheduled for an October launch. Sheth has also confirmed that the new Realme GT Neo2 will be available in the Black Mint colour option in India. Realme is yet to reveal the exact launch date.
Realme GT Neo2 specifications
The Realme GT Neo2 features a 6.62-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED display which refreshes at up to 120Hz. The display has a peak brightness of 1300 nits and is covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The Realme GT Neo2 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC from Qualcomm paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a microSD card. The device runs on Realme UI 2.0 skin on top of Android 11 out-of-the-box. The Realme GT Neo2 draws power from an onboard 5,000mAh battery that can fast-charge at 65W. It also sports an in-display fingerprint reader and a punch-hole cutout for the 16MP front camera.
On the camera front, the Realme GT Neo2 features a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The Realme GT Neo2 also packs in 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The Realme GT Neo2 starts at RMB 2,499 (around Rs 28,500) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in China.
Realme GT Master Explorer Edition specifications
For those wondering, the Realme GT Master Explorer Editon is a slightly bumped up version of the Realme GT Master Edition. It features a powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset from Qualcomm and a 3D vegan leather back. The display is a 6.5 inch AMOLED panel that refreshes at 120Hz. The triple camera setup at the back includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. There is a 32MP selfie snapper as well. The Realme GT Master Explorer Editon houses a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
