Last year, Samsung bid farewell to the Galaxy Note series with the Galaxy Note 20 and replaced it with another big-size phone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S21 Ultra was the first smartphone in the S series to come with the support for S Pen. However, unlike the Galaxy Note smartphones, Galaxy S21 Ultra didn’t have any space to store the S Pen; instead, Samsung offered a special case to put the stylus. Now, tipster Ice Universe suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra would come with a slot for the S Pen, replacing the Galaxy Note for once and all.
The information comes from the tipster Ice Universe, who suggests that Samsung’s upcoming flagship, Galaxy S22 Ultra, will offer some room for storing the S Pen inside the phone’s chassis. Two different independent sources have informed the IceUniverse about the development. As per the tipster, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 compared to Galaxy S21 Ultra’s 20:9 aspect ratio. This suggests that the S22 Ultra will be wider, like the Galaxy Note devices, probably making room for the S Pen. Further, the corners are expected to be much less rounded than previous generation Galaxy S series smartphones but not as flat as the Note series. The tipster also says that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 5,000mAh battery.
We’re still months away from the launch, and we haven’t even seen any unofficial renders corroborating IceUniverse’s information. So, we’ll suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt until we learn more about the Galaxy S22 series smartphones.
The Galaxy S22 series is expected to include the vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Recently, a report suggested that Samsung could launch Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 powered Galaxy S22 smartphones in India. The Galaxy S22 is rumoured to launch in January 2022.
