Samsung is readying the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, whose support page was recently been caught live on the Korean smartphone maker’s German website. The new Galaxy device will succeed last year’s Samsung S20 FE. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has also received an updated support page on Play Services for AR (previously known as ARCore) (via 9to5Google). This indicates that Samsung is preparing for the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) soon. There is no word yet on the launch date yet but rumour has it the phone will go official in early October, with pre-orders starting from October 20th.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE expected specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is the spiritual successor of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE that was launched last year. These Fan Edition phones are spin-off models of the company’s flagship S series. The idea is to offer fan favourtie specifications and design at a more affordable price point. The Galaxy S20 FE was packed with good hardware at a reasonable price point in India. A similar approach from Samsung is expected this year too with the Galaxy S21 FE.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is expected to come with a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED panel with a hole punch cutout for the 32MP selfie camera at the top middle section. The display will feature a 120Hz refresh rate as well as an FHD+ resolution and an in-display fingerprint reader. The device is likely to be powered by Exynos 2100 SoC developed in-house by Samsung or the Snapdragon 888 chipset from Qualcomm. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage.
On the optics front, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is tipped to feature in a 12MP primary camera with OIS support, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto snapper with 3x optical zoom. It will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The smartphone will be positioned as a budget flagship and reports suggest that it is likely to come in several colour variants like – green, white, blue, violet, and grey. The device will run on a version of OneUI on top of Android 11.
