iPhone 13 launch date

iPhone 13 launch date has been set for September 14th. Apple will take the wraps off these models at a virtual event that will air from Apple Park, California. The live streaming will begin at 1 PM ET (10:30 PM IST) on September 14th on the company’s official website, social media plaforms, and the YouTube channel. In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the all new Apple Watch Series 7, AirPods 3, and refreshed MacBook Pro models.

iPhone 13 price in India

We’re just a few days away from the launch of the iPhone 13 series, so it was likely that we will have details about its prices. And a recent leak courtesy of Apple Hub suggests the iPhone 13 prices will start from $699 (Rs 51,726 approx) for the Mini model. iPhone 13 price is likely to be $799 (Rs 59,126 approx) onwards, starting with the 64GB variant. The iPhone 13 Pro price could start from $999 (Rs 73,926 approx) and the Pro Max base model price is expected to be around $1,099 (Rs 81,326 approx).

In India, iPhone 13 prices will include import duty and other taxes, which is likely to push the iPhone 13 mini price to Rs 70,000 or even more. As for the iPhone 13 Pro Max, expect the model to cost over Rs 1.2 lakh in the country when it launches.

iPhone 13 design

Reports indicate the iPhone 13 series will be offered in four models like 2020. You will get the iPhone 13 mini, regular iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Since its launch, the mini variant failed to garner a response from consumers, forcing Apple to slash its production figures. But it seems the company wants to give it another shot, and hope that iPhone 13 mini fares better than its predecessor.

The screen sizes remain the same for all models, but the notch is likely to be smaller this time, which increases the display footprint. Reports suggest Apple has found a way to make the front camera smaller, paving the way for a smaller notch. Various 3D mockups of the iPhone 13 cases have seemingly confirmed the change. As for the dimensions, Apple could pack the iPhone 13 models with a larger battery unit, which could invariably make the phones thicker, albeit marginally.

iPhone 13 display

Most Android phones have it in 2021, and it’s possible the iPhone 13 series could finally follow the suite. We’re talking about 120Hz refresh rate support on the Retina display of the iPhone 13 models. However, it seems Apple is bringing the feature to the Pro models only. Samsung and LG Display have been entrusted with developing high-end screens for new iPhones.

Both the South Korean brands started manufacturing LTPO displays earlier this year. Add to that, iPhone 13 could also feature an Always-On display option. Yes, that’s right, none of the iPhones selling right now has this feature, while Android folks have it in various models. The company’s invite gives us hints about its presence on the upcoming iPhones.

iPhone 13 hardware

When we talk about raw features on the iPhone, Apple has stuck to its winning formula with the A series Bionic chipset. And for the iPhone 13 series, it will be the 5nm architecture A15 Bionic on board. Various benchmark tests have already talked about its capability, easily beating the high-end Snapdragon chipset under the hood of most premium Android phones in the market. The main hardware will most likely get 6GB RAM or maybe move up to 8GB for the Pro Max models this year.

But one thing is certain, iPhone 13 will carry the biggest storage variants we have ever seen. Reports say the iPhone 13 Pro Max could come in a 1TB variant this year. And even when you consider that iPhone storage is not expandable, that’s a lot of space even for heavy users.

Besides that, you get an improved Face ID sensor that should be able to work even when you are wearing a mask. Apple continues to use lightning port for iPhones, but no Touch ID is expected on this year’s model. 5G continues to be at the forefront of the new iPhone series and this year we expect the company to have a bigger say in what people want to use; 4G or 5G (wherever available). The surprise addition from the Cupertino-based giant could be the ability to make calls via satellite network in an emergency situation. Again, this technology is likely to be locked for certain markets, but we’re eager to see how that pans out.

iPhone 13 camera

It goes without saying that the new iPhone 13 series is likely to get improved cameras. Another strong highlight from this week’s invite suggests the iPhone 13 phones will get better with low light photography and better stabilisation for recording high-resolution videos. Apple is making this possible with the adoption of Sensor-shift stabilisation across the lineup. The Pro models come with better ultra-wide cameras that provide more light for images and autofocus is offered as well.

The size of the camera module is likely to increase to accommodate the bigger sensors but even then the lens will protrude less at the back. The latest reports also talk about Apple implementing Night Photography mode via its Night Mode feature. So, you can point the iPhone 13 camera towards the sky and let its AI processing detect the moon and other objects with clarity.

Similarly, the video capabilities of the iPhone 13 camera are likely to see a major bump, and include features aimed at professional videographers. We’ll be hearing more about that from Apple next week at the event.

Stay tuned with 91mobiles for all the latest updates, and coverage from the iPhone 13 launch event next week, where we might also see the Apple Watch Series 7 and the new AirPods.
