Acer laptops are quite popular in the consumer electronics space but it looks like the brand is looking to enter a new segment in India. 91mobiles has exclusively learned from industry insider Ishan Agarwal that the company will be bringing smart TVs in India next month. The models will be available from 32-inch to 70-inch screen sizes and will be manufactured by Dixon in the country. The upcoming Acer TVs will run Android TV OS and have support for popular apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. There’s support for Google Assistant, meaning you can control the TV with just your voice. The Acer TVs will come with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and HDMI connectivity options and will tout features like Micro Dimming and Dolby Audio. Some models will also come with a frameless design.
Acer TV HD, FDH, and 4K key specifications
Acer smart TVs will be available in 32-inch, 42-inch, 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 58-inch, and 70-inch screen sizes. The HD Ready variant will be available in a 32-inch size and will pack 1.5GB RAM, 60Hz refresh rate, and 3000:1 contract ratio. The 32-inch model will be available in a standard version and a frameless variant. The Acer 42-inch FHD Android TV will have a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 60Hz refresh rate.
Moving on, there will be 4K Acer TV models as well and these will be available in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 58-inch, and 70-inch sizes. These models are called Acer 43-inch Frameless 4K Ultra HD Android TV, Acer 50-inch Frameless 4K Ultra HD Android TV, Acer 55-inch Frameless 4K Ultra HD Android TV, Acer 58-inch 4K Ultra HD Android TV, and Acer 70-inch 4K Ultra HD Android TV.
The 4K TVs will have 2GB RAM, 3840×2160 pixels resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, contrast ratio of 5000:1, and UHD upscaling. As the names suggest, some of the models will have a frameless design. While the price details aren’t revealed at the moment, we can speculate the upcoming range of Acer TVs will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 70,000. They’re expected to feature an LED panel.
