Samsung Galaxy M52 5G battery capacity might disappoint the fans

Highlights
  • Samsung Galaxy M52 5G will come with a 5,000mAh battery, according to a new certification listing
  • That’s a much smaller cell than the 7,000mAh battery of the Galaxy M51
  • The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset and get a quad-camera rear setup

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy M52 5G smartphone has been in the news a lot lately. It’ll be the successor to the Galaxy M51 and will offer 5G connectivity at an affordable price tag. Considering its predecessor packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, the upcoming mid-range Samsung Galaxy M52 5G smartphone was expected to house a 6,000mAh battery, but a new certification listing suggests that it will only get a 5,000mAh cell. The Samsung Galaxy M52 will reportedly get a powerful Snapdragon 778G chipset and come with a quad rear camera setup and will be the most powerful M-series smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G battery capacity

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G will not get as large a battery as expected. There were rumours that the phone will be equipped with a 6,000mAh or larger battery, but that will not be the case. The smartphone has received the 3C certification in China, and the listing has revealed the phone’s battery capacity. As per the listing, Samsung Galaxy M52 5G will only get a 5,000mAh battery, almost 30 percent smaller than the cell that its predecessor packs. To be exact, the 3C certification shows that the battery has a rated capacity of 4,860mAh, which means a typical capacity of 5,000mAh.

This decision to use a 30 percent smaller battery seems odd considering 5G and the associated increase in data consumption will demand a big battery from the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. Perhaps the choice to use a smaller cell was made to keep the weight and thickness of the phone in check.

Customers who were waiting for the Galaxy M52 5G to arrive with a larger battery will surely be disappointed. However, the phone will get a powerful Snapdragon 778G chipset, a quad rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel sensor. It’ll also come with a high-refresh Super AMOLED infinity-O display, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will run Android 11 with OneUI on top, and offer 25W fast charging support.

Samsung hasn’t made any announcement regarding the phone, but it should be launched in the next couple of weeks.
