The fourth week of July has witnessed quite a few smartphone launches in India. We were greeted with the launch of the Redmi Note 10T at the start of the week and it comes as a new variant in the Redmi Note 10 lineup. This was followed by the Samsung Galaxy M21 2021, which is an upgrade to the original Galaxy M21 that was launched last year. Then came the much-awaited OnePlus Nord 2, a successor to the original Nord from last year. It brings a handful of improvements over the predecessor with regards to the chipset, design, and other internal hardware. The week ended with the launch of the POCO F3 GT and the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, respectively. Here’s a quick rundown of the smartphones that launched in India between July 16th and July 23th.
Redmi Note 10T
Redmi Note 10T is the latest Redmi Note 10 series phone and was launched in the country on July 20th. The handset flaunts a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dot Display with 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass layer, and 1100nits brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 internal storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12 custom skin out of the box and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.
The Redmi Note 10T is equipped with a triple rear camera system on the back, with a 48MP primary camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

POCO F3 GT
POCO F3 GT launched in India on Friday. It sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, 500nits brightness, and 1300nits peak brightness and punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The phone is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage that isn’t further expandable. It runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12 custom skin out of the box and packs a 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast-charging support.
Moving to optics, the POCO F3 GT has a triple camera setup on the back with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro unit. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.

- Sale: No surprise, POCO F3 GT also goes on sale in India on July 26th, with pre-orders starting July 24th. OnePlus Nord 2 5G
OnePlus Nord 2 launched on July 23rd. sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 2400×1080 pixels resolution, sRGB, P3, and 410ppi pixel density. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC coupled with ARM G77 MC9 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone boots Android 11 OS with OxygenOS 11.3 custom skin on top and packs a 4,500mAh battery with a 65W Warp Charge fast-charging support.
Moving to cameras, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS, f/1.88 aperture, and 6P lens; an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 119.7-degree field of view, EIS, and f/2.25 aperture; and a 2MP mono lens. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options could include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C port.

- Sale: The 8GB + 128GB variant of OnePlus Nord 2 too goes on sale on July 26th via both Amazon.in and OnePlus.in for Prime and Red Cable Club members, respectively. Open sales start on July 28th for both the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB (Blue Haze and Grey Sierra) variants. The 6GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB Green Woods options will go on sale in August 2021.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G
The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has launched on July 23rd in India. It sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a V-shaped notch for the front-facing camera. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 11 OS with One UI Core 3.1 out of the box. The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultrawide angle lens, and a 2MP depth camera. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. A 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support fuels the phone. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C for charging and data transfers.

It is powered by the dated Exynos 9611 SoC with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, up to 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone boots Android 11-based OneUI custom skin out of the box and packs a 6,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support.
