Apple is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone lineup, the iPhone 13, later this year. It is said to bring three models, the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Going by the leaks and rumours that we have seen so far, one of the major upgrades that the iPhone 13 series will offer are displays with 120Hz refresh rate, as opposed to the 60Hz screens in the iPhone 12 lineup. Well, today we get to know even more regarding the displays of the iPhone 13 models. According to a new tip, the screens of the iPhone 13 models will have an always-on display feature, just like on the Apple Watch.

iPhone 13 series Always-On Display feature
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the 2021 iPhones (aka iPhone 13 series) may have screens with an always-on display feature. For those of you who don’t know, the always-on display mode keeps the screen turned on even when you aren’t using the device, to show time, important notifications, and other such information. Popular tipster, Max Weinbach had also hinted towards a similar feature for the iPhone 13 in the past. The always-on display feature has been available on Android smartphones for quite a long time now.
Select models in the iPhone 13 lineup are expected to have an OLED display from Samsung featuring the LTPO technology. Displays with the LTPO technology consume less amount of power compared to the ones without it. Therefore, the LTPO displays don’t have an adverse effect on the battery life of a smartphone even with the always-on feature. No wonder Apple is offering this feature in the iPhone 13 series. Oh, by the way, Apple already offers the always-on display feature in the recent Apple Watch models.
The iPhone 13 series smartphones are expected to feature a smaller notch on the display compared to that of the iPhone 12 models, Apple A15 chipset, better cameras at the front and rear, and better battery life. Along with the information on the iPhone 13 series smartphones, Mark Gurman also says that Apple might launch new MacBook models this fall (between September and November). Hopefully, we will know more about the iPhone 13 smartphones as the launch nears.
