Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is set to launch later this year with the all-new Wear platform. This much was confirmed by Samsung during the Google I/O 2021 keynote a few weeks ago. Google and Samsung announced that they were merging WearOS and Tizen to create Wear, which brings the best of both platforms. Since the announcement, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, which did not reveal anything about its specifications. Now, 91mobiles has discovered the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 on the SGS Fimko website, which tells us about the smartwatch’s battery and charging support.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 on SGS Fimko
The SGS Fimko listing reveals the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 model numbers SM-R865F and SM-R860, which are the same model numbers that appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance listing last month. This means we’re looking at the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the Fimko listing reveals that the smartwatch will pack a 247mAh battery. Additionally, the watch will support 5W charging.
The 247mAh battery suggests that the SM-R865F and SM-R860 are the 41mm variant of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. To recall, the Galaxy Watch 3 41mm variant featured a 240mAh battery, while the 45mm model housed a bigger 340mAh unit. That said, the original Galaxy Watch packed a much bigger 472mAh battery and it looks like the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 won’t offer a battery capacity that big. Still, with a new and optimised Wear OS platform that promises good battery life, it seems the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will do just fine on a 247mAh battery.
