Motorola Defy launched with 48MP triple cameras, 5000mAh battery, rugged design: price, specifications

After various leaks and rumours, Motorola Defy has been officially launched globally. The phone is made in partnership with CAT phone maker Bullit Group. It is IP68 rated for waterproof and can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 35 minutes, thanks to the unique dual-sealed housing. The handset is also drop-proof for up to 1.8 meters and is MIL-STD-810H certified for extreme durability from varied temperatures between +55°C to -25°C. It is also equipped with a 0.7mm thick Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and 0.5mm recess. Motorola Defy specifications include a 6.5-inch display, Snapdragon 662, 48MP triple cameras, and 20W Turbocharging support.

Motorola Defy price

Motorola Defy price is EUR 329 (around Rs 29,100) / GBP 279 (Rs 28,900) and comes in forged green and black colours. It will be available in select European and LATAM markets in the coming weeks. No word yet on the Motorola Defy India launch.

Motorola Defy sports a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 720×1600 pixels resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It is powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage option that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 10 OS but the company says it will get an Android 11 update soon. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 20 Turbocharging support.

Moving to optics, the Motorola Defy features a 48MP (f/1.7 aperture) primary sensor, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro vision lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port that is waterproof. It measures 164.82×76.05×9.52mm. The phone is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance and is also MIL-STD-810H certified. It has a programmable shortcut key with Push To Talk mode. The Motorola Defy measures 169.8×78.2×10.9mm and weighs 232 grams.
