Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 spotted on FCC

According to previous reports, the model number of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is SM-R177. Today, we have spotted certification for the same model number of the Galaxy Buds 2 on the FCC certification platform. The certification reveals live images of the Galaxy Buds 2 along with a few of its specifications.

As you can see, the Galaxy Buds 2 seem to have a design similar to the Galaxy Buds with an in-ear design. Going by the images, it looks like the Galaxy Buds 2 have an optical sensor for wear detection, an inward-facing microphone, and an outward-facing microphone. The earphones in the test images have a black colour scheme, meaning black could be one of the hues on offer.

According to FCC, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) connectivity. One of the images shows the model number of the charging case of the Galaxy Buds 2 is EP-QR177. It also reveals that the charging case will have a 2.5W charging speed and the earbuds have a 0.6W charging input. Unfortunately, that is all the info we could gather from the certification.

According to a popular tipster Roland Quandt, Samsung has already started the production of the Galaxy Buds 2. Moreover, a sketch of the charging case of the Galaxy Buds 2 has also been leaked in the past. Considering that the earphones have been certified through FCC, the Galaxy Buds 2 launch seems imminent. Considering that Galaxy Buds were launched in August 2019 and Galaxy Buds Live were launched in August 2020, it is highly likely that Samsung could launch the Galaxy Buds 2 in August 2021.
